In general, the bulk of your pet’s relocation cost is usually the manifest cargo cost. Manifest cargo costs are determined per volumetric weight, crate dimensions, LxWxH/6000=Chargeable Kg. Airlines charge freight cost to the highest weight, whether volumetric or actual physical weight. These, costs are determined monthly, towards the end of the month for the following month. Unfortunately, no ‘discounted rates’ are applicable even if bookings are made well in advance. The majority airlines only confirm flights about 2-3 weeks prior to departure.
IATA regulations prescribe the minimum size and standards of pet travel crates.
The sedation of dogs and cats is not recommended, and pets can be dumped from the flight.
